Chip Capacitor/Electrolytic Capacitor/Ceramic Capacitor SupplierChip capacitorIt is the most basic electronic component in a circuit. I believe everyone is familiar with it. Almost any circuit or electronic product will have capacitors, but the role of capacitors is not fixed. Through different circuits and functions, there will be different effects. Let's explore together with Shixiang Electronics!
Chip capacitors are a type of capacitive material. The full name of chip capacitor is: multilayer (laminated, stacked) chip Ceramic capacitor, also known as chip capacitor, chip capacitance. There are two ways to represent chip capacitors, one is in inches and the other is in millimeters.
Chip capacitors are energy storage components. It stores charges in the form of electric field energy.
In circuits, patch capacitors are typically used to absorb interference pulse signals, smooth surge currents, and store electrical energy.
Secondly, when the voltage of the two terminals of the chip capacitor is lower than the voltage of the external circuit (or power supply voltage), the external circuit will charge it until it is fully charged, that is, the voltage of the two terminals is equal to the voltage of the external circuit.
In circuits, this function is usually used for delay, absorption, filtering, reset, flipping, etc. When the voltage at both ends of the chip capacitor is higher than the external circuit voltage (or power supply voltage), the chip capacitor will discharge to the external circuit until the voltage at both ends is equal to the external circuit voltage. If the voltage of the external circuit is zero, the chip capacitor will completely release the stored energy, that is, the voltage of the two terminals of the chip capacitor is zero.
In the circuit, the purpose is the same as above. When only connecting the chip capacitor to the power supply, it is equivalent to a short circuit. Because the voltage at both ends of the chip capacitor is zero, the charging current is high. This is why alternating current and unstable direct current can flow through sheet capacitors. In circuits, patch capacitors can play a role in absorption and protection.
When the chip capacitor is fully charged, it is equivalent to an open circuit. Because the voltage of the two terminals of the chip capacitor is equal to the power supply voltage, and the charging current is zero. In a circuit, it is difficult for direct current to flow through a chip capacitor, which is precisely why.
Chip capacitors pass through alternating current but block direct current. In circuits, this function is typically used for DC isolation, AC signal coupling, etc.
Chip capacitors are prone to passing high-frequency AC currents and hinder the passage of low-frequency AC currents. In circuits, this function is usually used for AC signal frequency division, high-frequency filtering, etc.
The current in a chip capacitor is 90 degrees higher than the voltage at both ends. In circuits, this function is usually used for phase shift, phase compensation, motor starting, etc. The voltage at both ends of the patch capacitor should not suddenly change. In circuits, this function is usually used for clamping, bootstrap boosting, etc.
